For years the favorite pencil of all colored pencil artists, the wonderful Faber Castell Polychromos Pencil range is excellent for rendering flesh colors and foliage especially in my opinion. The consistency of these pencils is divine, creating a smooth even texture to your work, easily some of the best pencils available to any serious coloured pencil artist together with Derwent's Artists range.
These pencils are break- and water resistant and encased in premium California cedar. They come pre-sharpened and do not require sharpening as often as the softer pencils yet still provide a wonderful rich coverage with very even color saturation.
My favorite colours in their range are: Light Flesh, Medium, Flesh, Dark Flesh, Ivory and Cinnamon. Use greys and browns in your flesh tones as well to create a rich finish to your portrait work.
