For years only available to US artists and reknowned for their softness, the Prismacolor colored pencils were the highly coveted brand that European artists craved to get their hands on.
However, with the advent of the internet and global e-commerce, everyone is now able to order a set and what a joy that is! These pencils are very rich and smooth, with a soft lead providing ample mixing, blending and burnishing options to create rich lush artwork where colours just jump off the paper.
Fantastic pencils in combination with the famous Rising Stonehenge paper, but also do try these out on the sanded supports such as Pastelmat for beautiful results.
My personal favorite colors in this range are: Beige, Beige Sienna, Clay Rose, Cream, French Grey ( the whole range from 10% to 90%), Light Peach, Peach Beige and Putty Beige. All excellent for blending in portrait work.

Use these in combination with Prismacolor Art Stix to build layers fast, which are basically colored pencils sticks in the shape of square pastel sticks, making putting down large areas of color and absolute dream.
The Prismacolor colored pencils are available in sets of 12, 24, 36, 48, 72, 120 and 132 with open stock pencils always available as well of course. You can also buy the colorless blender if you are fan of burnishing, creating a very smooth perfectly blended surface.
